Phetchaburi Summer Palace
This excursion is arranged every Thursday (if you are more than 6 adults, it is also possible to book another day). You will be picked up from your accommodation at 08:30 and will be back around 14:00.
After a short trip of approx. 1 hour north you arrive at Phetchaburi. Here you will visit King Mongkhut’s (Rama IV) summer palace Phra Nakhorn Khiri, or Khao Wang, the palace mountain, as it is called locally. Rama IV was very interested in astrology and he had a tower built next to the palace where he could observe the sky. The palace is mainly built in European style, with elements of Thai and Chinese architecture.
If you do not have the strength to walk, there is a cable car that goes up to the palace. You then continue to Khao Luang to explore the cave with more than 200 Buddha statues as well as beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. The day ends with lunch before returning to Hua Hin.
