Sam Roi Yod National Park
You will be picked up from your accommodation at 09:00 and will be back around 15:00. After an hour’s journey south through the Thai landscape, including pineapple fields, you come to an unspoilt fishing village in the middle of Sam Roi Yod National Park, Thailand’s first marine national park, established as early as 1966.
From there you go, weather permitting, by boat around the headland to a long fine sandy beach where you wade ashore and with a little luck you can catch a glimpse of pink Irrawaddy dolphins out at sea. If the waves are too high for a safe boat trip, you walk to the beach instead. and
You who just want to take it easy can stay on the beach for sunbathing and swimming. Those of you who are more adventurous can instead visit the cave Phrayanakorn where you will find King Rama V’s pavilion lit by the sun through the cave’s roof. Put on your comfortable shoes as the approximately 400 meter long walk to the cave can be stressful. Don’t forget to bring drinking water for the walk!
